Let Lent, the oldest part of the town, enchant you with its Old Vine, the oldest vine in the world, with medieval towers and remains of the old town walls, and moreover the square Grajski trg with the castle and museum, the main square Glavni trg with the Plague Column and the Town Hall, Bishop Slomšek’s Cathedral with its viewing tower and Statue of the first bishop of Maribor Anton Martin Slomšek in front of the Cathedral, the Jewish synagogue, the Art Gallery and the Theatre just to mention a few.

A guided tour of Maribor – for free

Every Saturday morning, from July to October, local tourist guides will offer free guided sightseeing tours of the city to all visitors who are interested in the history, culture and tourism offer of Maribor. This will liven up the city centre even more. The tours start at 10 o´clock from outside the offices of TIC – Tourist Information Centre Maribor (Address: Partizanska cesta 6a).
