Tara Simoncic – Conductor

The American conductor Tara Simoncic began to show interest in music at the age of six when she started playing trumpet. Her musical path led her to the New England Conservatory where she acquired a degree in Trumpet Performance and a Masters Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Northwestern University. Due to remarkable success during her studies she was given a scholarship to study conducting at the Manhattan School of Music where she also graduated. As a conductor she attended masterclasses with renowned musicians such as George Hurst, Zdeněk Mácal, David Gilbert, George Manahan, Victor Yampolsky, Kirk Trevor and Iloh Yang. She is currently working as a conductor for the youth concert series of the Greenwich Symphonic Orchestra and also conducts the modern orchestra ensemble The Flexible Orchestra from New York.  

She has conducted various orchestras such as The Louisville Orchestra, Manhattan School of Music Orchestra, Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra, Omaha Youth Symphony Orchestra, Kinhaven Music School Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinů Symphony Orchestra, West Czech Symphony Orchestra, Adygeya Republic National Symphony Orchestra and Maykop Music School Orchestra. She was also the music director of the Adephi Chamber Orchestra, Norwalk Youth Symphony and Harrisburg Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. She worked as an assistant for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Knoxville Philharmonics and Marta Graham Dance Company from New York. In 2013 she went on a tour to Hong Kong with the New York company American Ballet Theatre.
