Ilonka Pucihar

Ilonka was born in Maribor where she concluded the music school under direction of Prof. Janko Šetinc. She graduated at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under direction of Prof. Tatjana Ognjanovič. Parallel to her music degree she also completed studies of Spanish and French. She concluded her solo piano studies accompanied by the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and what is more she performed at the subscription concert series of the Maribor Philharmonic Orchestra. She performs with the Trio Clavimerata, which used to be called Mefisto. She received the Student Prešeren Award for for her artistic achievements. She is a member of various chamber orchestras in Slovenia and abroad with which she performs in Germany, Austria, France, Israel, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. 

In 2007 she got a degree in pedagogy from the Music Centre Willems and today her research and creativity are inspired by students from the Music School Vrhnika. She takes part in various seminars and conferences in Slovenia and abroad. While presenting the book Moj prijatelj klavir (My Friend the Piano) by Ilonka and Jaka Pucihar, Ilonka organizes presentations and lectures on the topic of various creative possibilities, in Slovenia and abroad (July 2011 – National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy in Chicago, USA; November 2011 – International EPTA Conference in Lucerne, Switzerland; June 2012 – World Piano Teachers Association Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia; ...)
